Airborne particles are everywhere — when they enter the respiratory system via the nose or mouth, the body turns on its cleansing mechanisms and puts the immune system on active duty. Herbal nourishment supports a healthy respiratory system that can be challenged by inhaled irritants. The ALJ formula helps balance the natural eliminative functions of the respiratory system, supports healthy lung function, and helps support the body during seasonal changes. Fenugreek and mullein contain mucilage, a substance that causes the herbs to swell in water, creating a viscous, fibrous substance with a soothing effect. Fennel has traditionally been used as a cleansing herb. Horseradish has a stimulating effect on the respiratory system. Boneset has traditionally been used to provide extra nutritional support during seasonal times. This liquid extract is preserved in a vegetable glycerin base — no alcohol. Take approximately 1⁄2 teaspoon (2 mL) in water three times daily.
