STEP 5: Wash your hands immediately after touching your cold sore so the virus doesn't spread to other parts of your body. STEP 6: If using makeup, allow the product to dry for at least two minutes before applying. STEP 7: You can apply cosmetics, such as lipstick, foundation, powder, etc. Always use a separate makeup applicator, such as a cotton swab, to avoid spreading the virus.
